Job Description

DUTIES:

Leverage expertise with dPCR, qPCR and Sequencing to conduct consultative and strategic selling presentations with customers and influence key decisions on technology and product choices.

Develop and maintain knowledge of genetic analysis markets, products, and buying practices required to best position our genetic analysis solutions in terms of performance, workflow and budget.

Consult with customers on applications to maximize technology utilization and promote current advances in protocols, kits and capabilities.

Drive reagent throughput and attachment rates, driving enhanced utilization of our brand of qPCR and sequencing technologies.

Target existing AB dPCR, qPCR instruments not using Thermo Fisher consumables: identify the applications, reagents, assays, and protocols available and convert the business to our brand.

Build relationships with customers to understand customer goals, priorities and challenges, and focus on project needs and workflows to maximize consumable usage.

Manage sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking through the use of Seibel system and other designated IT tools.

Develop and manage a business plan to meet or exceed business goals agreed upon with Thermo Fisher Scientific commercial management for the territory.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in Medical Sales or related sales experience in Life Science field, or in any occupation in which the required experience can be obtained, or related experience.

Must have experience or knowledge of:

Capital equipment;

Large account management;

Territory planning;

Forecasting for both run rate and large volume/project based consumable orders;

qPCR;

dPCR; and

Capillary Electrophoresis DNA Sequencing and Fragment Analysis.

Travel: Up to 50% domestic travel required. Roving/Telecommuting Employee: Reports to company headquarters in Waltham, MA. Can work remotely or telecommute.
